Pole Flex Terms and Conditions
Payment
Pole Flex classes are run in courses only. We do not run pay as you go classes. Payment is due in full before the course starts. Refunds are not possible unless we are given at least 7 days’ notice before the course starts. After the 7 days prior to the course starting, refunds are strictly not possible. Prices are non-negotiable. If you pay for a course and you cannot attend some of the month’s lessons, these lessons are forfeited and no refund or exchange will be given. If there is a 5-week month, prices will be adjusted appropriately. On a 5-week month we sometimes run an extra workshop/special class on the final week which will be optional or have a week off . ‘Make up classes’ for missed lessons are not available, unless prearranged with your instructor and there is a space on a suitable alternative date/time. (This is not guaranteed and should not be relied on). Please request bank details or PayPal details to pay. You may set up a standing order if you wish. On the 4th week of the month, you will be asked if you are continuing onto the next month/course. If you do not wish to continue, your space will be offered out/advertised. Please do not wait until the new course starts to state that you do not wish to continue as then your space cannot be o offered out in time. If this happens, you may not be able to return to classes. Please ensure you give plenty of notice to Abbie if you do not wish to roll onto the next month’s course.
Class rules
Do not be late - Unfortunately, students who arrive late for the warm-up cannot join in class for safety reasons.
Do not turn up any earlier than 5 minutes before class.
Do not copy other students or attempt any moves you have not been taught by an instructor.
Do not teach a move to another student that you may have been taught and they haven’t. Please wait for appropriate instruction before attempting any moves on the pole.
Mats are always available to use, please use whenever you wish. Some students in a ‘mixed ability’ class may be at a different/a higher level to yourself - this does not mean you will be taught what they are doing, even if you feel you are capable. Your strength will need to be built up and limit the risk of injuries, therefore you will be taught regressions/alternative moves to suit the level you are currently at. If you try a move that you have been told not to do, or one you have not been shown, you will be asked to leave. Please ensure when leaving the class, you remove any of your own rubbish, ensure you have not spilt pole grip up the walls/floor, put your grip back in the box and put the dirty cloth in the bag. Please only use pole specific grip and not gym based chalk as this ruins the poles.
Please make a swift exit after class and do not congregate in the room if there is another class about to start.
Whilst every e ort is taken to ensure student safety during the lessons, there is always a possibility of getting hurt. This includes bruising to the skin. Please do not ever work through pain.
If you are suspected to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs, you will be asked to leave immediately, no refunds will be given.
At times, unexpected circumstances may prevent your instructor from physically demonstrating a specific spin, trick, or transition. However, they possess a thorough understanding of the technical aspects and contact points required to guide you in executing the moves safely.
What to wear/self care
Please do not moisturise at least 24 hours prior to class, this can make you slippery and lose grip. This can be dangerous and frustrating for you if it jeopardises your hour in class. If you use sun beds, using one the same day as class is fine but please do not use sun bed cream as this will also make you very slippery.
Please try to avoid shaving on the same day, again as this can make you slippery. Make sure you wear something that you feel comfortable in. Shorts will need to be worn for leg skin contact on the pole. However, if you are uncomfortable wearing shorts, you can purchase longer ones and roll them up as an option. Put your shorts on under leggings or tracksuit bottoms when you arrive, and only take your trousers o when you need to or bring your shorts separately and get changed when needed. A sports bra and vest top is a good option to wear, or a baggy t-shirt if you want more protection. Please note - if you do not have shorts with you, you may have to sit out of specific moves for safety reasons. Bare feet are advised due to slipping but if you would prefer to wear socks, you can do but at your own risk. Make sure to bring a drink with you (the gym do sell bottles of water and other drinks at reception if needed). Please remove all jewelry such as rings (including wedding rings) bracelets, watches, necklaces and anklets. Belly piercings may be kept in as long as they are covered with clothing or a plaster. This is to ensure no injuries or risk of pulling piercings out, occur, plus it protects the poles from being damaged.
Please do not leave the studio to go to the toilet etc. without putting your clothes back on over your pole outfit. The gym users may find it uncomfortable if you are in a small outfit or lace.
Please always wear shoes outside of the studio. Please do not use any of the gym’s equipment unless you are a Body Ethics member.
Pole Flex classes are taken at your own risk.
